The director, Jayne Helliwell, sadly passed away not long after we shot this video- so here it is, in dedication to her memory.

I’ve shot two video’s with Lily in the last week- One of which was for the Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (I kid you not), some of the stills from which can be seen below.

…Another week and another video with Director Jayne Helliwell. This time for Ali Love’s ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. Shot on a RED from the lovely people at Focus24 in Hoxton sq.

On this project I worked with CJ Clarke from Global Stories who was commissioned by the people at SHS to produce both a stills and moving image campaign for this fledgling charity. Commercial to follow in due course.

‘Goodbye Mr Pink’ is up for Best Film & Best Cinematography at this years Fuji Shorts.

The last two weeks have seen me collaborating on two very different looking promos with one very talented director: Colonel Blimp’s Tim Brown…
Firstly we have a video for the beautiful Teenager’s in Tokyo, filmed on location in Basingstoke.

…and then the dark but equally alluring Ghost Poet who we filmed in the studio here in London.

We shot this on two ancient video cameras…  one from the late 70’s and the other from 80’s & the majority of the effects you can see were done in camera!

July: I’ve just returned from a Documentary shoot in Iceland with director Ali Silverstein. Shooting in Iceland is a particular treat as no matter where you point your camera these wonderful vistas await you. To see more picture click HERE

This colorful video was my first outing with the Canon Eos 5D Mk2…. used here with a zeiss 85mm portrait lens!

Blackwater has made it into the top 6 short films competing at this years CINEGEAR Expo 2009. The winners will be announced at the Expo in LA on the fourth of June.

I’ve just got back from New Mexico/LA and my first major dalliance with the RED camera. The above images are tiffs taken straight from the rushes- one big advantage of the RED system. But until i see it on a big screen i’m reserving my judgement.

Something to Celebrate: Our ad somehow managed to win Best Cinematography at this years Kodak awards… which was nice!
